Photography - DJ and Julia, Part 2

First of all, I know I have been gone a lot lately. Truth is, a lot has been happening around here. Not the best stuff. But we are working through it. The other day, to get my mind off of it, I finally went out and got some more pictures of my brother and Julia. I got some pictures of them in New York, but it was raining, and I was a wuss about getting my camera wet.

Plus, it was cold.

Anyway, I took advantage of the sunshine the other day and got some pictures. Now that Julia has her ring and everything, you know.

Let me know what you think. My mom was happy.

And that's all that matters right? Pictures of her son without his glasses.

I think he looks weird, but who am I to judge.

I love these people.

My Reminder to Myself

This is me.

I am overweight. I am tired most of the time. I don't feel attractive. I shirk away from taking pictures of myself. I want to be beautiful.

But I have made this change, of trying to be healthier. Of trying to eat better and be more mindful of my body and the chemicals that go in it.

And so far, I have lost 4 pounds in the two weeks that I have been committed to eating better. And less. And drinking water. And no fast food. Etc. (You get the idea)

I am overweight. And something needs to change.

I am writing this, not so that you will feel bad for me, but as a reminder to myself.  A reminder to remember that I am beautiful. In my own dorky way. That I have a boyfriend that loves me. And is so proud of me for the changes I have been making.

So I need to stick with it.

When I fall down, I will remember the way I felt when I was eating bad. The pain I felt every time I looked in the mirror.

I will also remember the way I feel when Dakota says he is proud of me.

This is my reminder to myself.

STICK WITH IT.

2012 in Review, and Looking Forward

Happy New Year, Loves! For me, 2012 was a great year. But I am hoping, that with a few tweaks, that 2013 will be even better.

Here are some highlights of 2012:

I visited Nana for my 21st birthday and got some great pictures while she wasn't paying attention. I visited Stillwater, New York and got some great pictures of my brother and Julia. I explained the difference between flat black and rich black. I wrote a letter to our future children. I gave you my opinion on what to include in a good design portfolio. I shared how I cheat at Project Life. My brother announced his engagement on his leave. I started Freebie Friday off with a storyboard template. I opened my Etsy Shop. I finally put up my gallery wall and showed you how I did it.
Overall, in 2012, I got up to 56 followers on my blog. I added sponsors. I decided what the focus of my blog was going to be, and I reevaluate it all the time. I am proud of where I have been, and am very excited about where I am going.

Looking Ahead to 2013

This year, instead of resolutions, I am going to have goals. Because to me, and let me know if you disagree, resolutions are meant to be broken. Once you break them, you give up. For goals, if you fall of the wagon, you get back on and keep trying. At least, that's how I psych myself into changing things. Nothing is perfect in this world, and I know that I am no where close. But I keep trying.
So what are my goals for 2013?

BLOG

1. Post more often.
2. Post more meaningful content.
3. Guest post on other blogs.
4. Contribute to other blogs.

SHOP

1. Offer Design services.
2. Create more diverse printables.
3. Create clip art to sell.

PERSONAL

1.Make a quilt.
2.Be a better girlfriend to Dakota.
3.Be a better best friend to Abigail.
4.Eat cleaner. (Eat foods as close to their natural state as possible)
5.Lose weight.
6.Continue not drinking soda.
7.Manage time more effectively.
8.Graduate college.

There are probably more that I can't think of right now, but 2012 was a great year. I hope 2013 will be even better!
Happy New Year, Loves!
